Summary: A typed copy of a daily diary, kept by Brown between 1846 and 1853 while living in Navoo, Illinois and another diary beginning in 1883 following his move to Nutrioso, Arizona, and also includes brief reminiscences of the years from 1833 to 1846. In Arizona, he writes about daily life, business and social activities, cooperative store management, measles, crops, treatment of Mormons, Clanton "the kind of cattle thieves", Springerville and Eager residents, and his grief after the death of his wife.
